Become a newer me

I’ve decided that i’m going to change, I have changed since doing the grass and knackering myself in the process. Not the process of changing but the physical exertion of cutting the seemingly never-ending acres of grass and all the edges that go with it. No, I’ve decided to change a few things about myself, become a newer me.

These things will become clear to me, just before I change, but for now I’m clueless. I don’t think I’m perfect, I am rather pleased with how I have my shit together, but not well enough me thinks. I have to sort out my none existent social life, do some fucking exercise, lose the weight that seems to just refuse to go and above all else, continue to eat well. I have at least tackled that issue i’m pleased to say.

There are many things that annoy me and the fact that there are, is one thing I need to change. People, news, politics and just about everything else on the planet gives me the shits, a bit of the grumpy old man syndrome. I have to tone down my disappointment in these things and see the good in everything. How the fuck can I do that when they all suck, they suck that badly that it gives me the shits.

I think I’ll try and drag the drum kit out of it’s bags and get pounding again, the stress relief and exercise it offers is truly wonderful and the only reason I put them away was that the new neighbours deserved a rest period when they moved in. Their noisy little offspring have placed a null and void sticker right across that good neighbourly gesture on my part.

As mentioned, I’ll also return to a life full of social intercourse. Not a recluse. I’ll pack up my sense of humour, smile, cheery cheers, empathetic caring attitude and go outside. I don’t know where I’ll go, but I’ll take my camera and return with award winning photographs.

I should also buy some new clothes to go with this new attitude to life. Bright colourful up to the minute fashionable clothes that will really make’th the man.

I may still be a grumpy old man, but at least I’ll be out and about, see you there.

I’m not so much in favor of joining the real world, Tbaoo.
I rather like the one I’ve created for myself.
It tends to look like reality, but that’s only for show.
It’s real enough to me, and that’s enough reality for my personal path.
… at this moment, anyway.

good point david, my version’s pretty cool as well. my problem is the folk that keep attempting to ruin it .. cheers 😉

thank you donna, the tv thing is hard for two reason: i am addicted and that i have to know what’s going on. it’s what’s going on that gives me the shits. i will always try to do what makes me happy, although some at work think that being grumpy makes me happy .. 🙂

I get where you are coming from. The thing is: You are master of your life. So….don’t let anything in that you cannot control. I almost got rid of my TV because of all the frustrations. The media is bias, so don’t watch it, except for a good movie YOU choose to watch. Politics stinks! Toss it away, you have no control over it. And so goes for many other things. The best advice I can give you is follow your bliss. Do things that make you happy. Find things that inspire you. But most of all know that you are master of your own destiny. The world can crumble around us, but it is up to us to survive. Blessings to you my friend, Donna

Ohhhh, change can be good Tbaoo 🙂 I love the bit about the neighbor…I may have to try that myself…but first have to buy a drum kit LOL. Going outside can be good…it’s not healthy to stay within four walls all day long. A change of clothes may be good too…just remember ‘clothes don’t make the man’ 🙂 Good luck on your life’s changes!

tbaoo,

I tend to feel quite comfortable at home, but it doesn’t stop me from going outside every once in a while. For me, there has to be a purpose. Presently, and this may work for you, I attend social events like Tweetups, meetups, and conferences. It’s a great way to meet local people and engage around topics I like.

Good luck to you!

Whoot for you…the way to deal with the people, the politics and the news is to just pretend they don’t exist! I haven’y got a bloody clue what is happening out their, I do my own thing, I make the right noises when in company with others and I seem to get by without worrying what the masses are doing 🙂

Go get those pictures!

Beth 🙂

That’s a lot of changes. The best one is to be less annoyed at things. The fact is that if you are annoyed at a politician, you suffer – he doesn’t. If you are annoyed at a company, you suffer – it doesn’t. If you are annoyed at the weather, you suffer – and most other people probably do, too (but that’s anther story).

Sounds like you got a plan, and are ready to enter full Geezer-hood.

A social what? Think I remember being social once but a long time ago, I get paid to talk to people all day why should anyone get it for free? 😉 good luck sir in your journey.
